José Enrique Tent-Manclús studied the first cycle of a degree in Geological Sciences at the University of Zaragoza and the second cycle, obtaining a Bachelor's degree at the University of Granada in 1996. He completed his doctoral courses at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography (SIO) of the University of California San Diego (UCSD), finishing courses at the University of Granada. Upon obtaining a research grant from the University of Alicante's own plan (1998-2001), he completed his doctoral thesis at that university. His doctoral thesis is about the geology of the mountains of Algayat, Abanilla and Crevillente and their relationship with the Falla de Crevillente. In 2001 he obtained a teaching assistant position at the University of Alicante through different figures until his incorporation as a full professor in 2016. He has been secretary of the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences. It belongs to the Multidisciplinary Institute for the Study of the Environment Ramón Margalef (IMEM). He has taught in the degrees of Biology, Marine Sciences and Geological Engineering; in the degrees of Biology, Geology and Marine Sciences and in the Masters of Secondary School Teacher Training and Management of the Mediterranean Ecosystems.
