Dr. Sirvent is an Associate Professor at the Universidad de Alicante and has held visiting professorships at over 20 universities across five continents: Phoenix, Quebec, Montreal, Lima, Havana, Manila, Perth, Melbourne, and major European cities.

His pioneering research has focused on the documentation of previously unknown working-class housing typologies in post-Soviet states, which has required extensive, often solo fieldwork in remote and physically demanding environments across Eastern Europe and beyond. His PhD dissertation, 'Architectural Typologies for the New Socialist Way of Life', received international distinction and was honored with the UNESCO Chair’s HERSUS Prize on Modern Heritage.

His field explorations span over 70 countries and include underwater archaeological surveys, alpine bivouac design in the Sierra Nevada, and post-disaster shelter strategies in the Sahara and Cuba. He has organized and led international workshops in countries such as Poland, Peru, and Western Sahara—often under challenging social and environmental conditions.

His deep field expertise is complemented by an impressive collection of publications, books, exhibitions, and international lectures, where he shares both academic and practical knowledge.

Beyond his scholarly pursuits, Prof. Sirvent is also an entrepreneur and a certified diver, paraglider, light aircraft pilot, and mountaineer. His technical abilities are matched by his intellectual curiosity and humanitarian focus—especially his commitment to sustainable, low-cost, high-impact architectural solutions for underserved communities.

Prof. Sirvent embodies an interdisciplinary spirit and exploratory ethos. His contributions to field-based architectural heritage research and humanitarian innovation, combined with a deeply rooted spirit of exploration, make him a truly exceptional field researcher.
