I received my doctorate from the University of the Basque Country in 1996. During 1997 I was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of California, Davis. In 1998 I got a tenure position at the University of the Basque Country. In 2003 I joined the Economics Department at the University of Alicante, where I am a full professor since 2017. Apart from California Davis, I have also enjoyed visiting positions at Nortwestern University, Illinois (1999-2000), Boston University (2011-12) and University of British Columbia, Vancouver (2019-2020). My research activity mainly focuses on Industrial Organization, Competition Policy and R&D.
