He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Biology with an Honorary Mention for Academic Achievement from the University of Alicante in 2014, completing part of his studies at the University of Exeter (UK). He obtained his Official Master’s degree from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), carrying out his Master’s thesis on the nuclear and cytoplasmic effects of coenzyme Q10, after which he worked in the private biomedical sector focused on human assisted reproduction. He received a national FPU fellowship to pursue doctoral studies, also at the UAB, focusing on the role of glucocorticoid receptor signaling pathways in biological events, including reproduction and inflammation, comparing across different species. In 2022, he earned his PhD with the qualification of Excellent, achieving the highest distinction “Cum Laude” and the International Mention. He has completed various international research stays: at the UMR Mixte of Nouzilly (Tours, France), a joint center of the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) and the University of Tours, and at the Faculty of Medicine of Linköping University (Sweden). As a postdoctoral researcher, he has worked in preclinical pharmacological research, analyzing the effect of repurposed drugs on signaling pathways involved in calcium dyshomeostasis and inflammation, and their role in neurodegenerative diseases. He has taught in the Department of Animal Health and Anatomy at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, in the Department of Physiology, Genetics and Microbiology at the University of Alicante, and in the Department of Health Sciences at the European University of Valencia. To date, he has participated in several funded national and international research projects and contracts, publishing 13 scientific articles (7 of them as first author, 11 in Q1 journals and in open access), and has made more than 30 contributions at peer-reviewed conferences, mostly international. In addition, he regularly communicates scientific outreach for the Spanish Society of Pharmacology, and participates in teaching innovation projects, with a strong interest in the service-learning methodology. Since 2018, he has regularly worked as an evaluator for ANECA in academic quality, taking part in more than 15 expert panels, including the International Quality Seal of the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME). He speaks fluent Spanish, Valencian (C1), and English (C1). Since October 2025, he serves as an Assistant Professor in the area of Pharmacology at the Department of Optics, Pharmacology and Anatomy at the University of Alicante, where he investigates inflammation mechanisms underlying neurodegenerative diseases.
