Degrees:

Degree in Economics (1986) and Extraordinary Prize of Degree (1987), University of Alicante-Spain.  Ph.D. University of Alicante (Economics, 1992) and Extraordinary PhD Award (1994), University of Alicante.

Research interests:

Her main areas of interest are migrations and the labour markets, poverty and social inequities, and  the analysis of the quality and comparability of the statistical information on migrations. She has directed three Ph.D. theses. She has participated in more than twenty research projects with public funding, and she is the author of more than fifty publications. Some of these are now well-established references not only in the field of economics but also in demography and economic history. In addition, her work has been used by National and International Statistical Offices, such as the National Statistics Institute (INE), the Valencian Statistics Institute, the Andalusian Statistics Institute, the Madrid Community Statistics Institute, the OECD, the European Commission and the UK Statistics Authority.

Teaching:

She has been teaching for more than 25 years and, always, with positive evaluations of this activity. She has taught core subjects in the area of Applied Economics, such as Spanish Economics, Labour Market, Applied Economic Analysis Techniques and EU Economics.
