He is currently an Assistant Professor in the Physical Geography area of ¿¿the Department of Regional Geographic Analysis and Physical Geography, where he was an Associate Professor from October 2010 to June 2025. Since 2015, he has been a member of the University of Alicante's research group: Environment, Society, and Landscape (MEDSPAI). Since 2021, he has been a research member of the Interuniversity Institute of Geography.
His main research interests focus on green infrastructure, landscape, and natural hazards. He has supervised numerous undergraduate and master's theses in these areas.
Since 2010, he has been the coordinating professor for external internships in the Geography and Spatial Planning degree program, as well as a tutor for the Erasmus+ program.
Since 2015, he has been the coordinating professor for internships in public organizations and companies in the Master's program in Natural Risk Planning and Management.
He was a partner and technical director of Cota Ambiental, S.L. from 1994 to 2025, a consultancy specializing in spatial planning and the environment. He provided technical assistance to municipalities in the Valencian Community and participated in numerous spatial planning and urban development projects, both at the municipal and inter-municipal levels, in various autonomous communities of Spain. He is also a court-appointed geographer specializing in spatial planning, urban planning, the environment, landscape, cartography, and cadastral surveys.
From 2007 to 2018, he served as president of the Spanish Association of Geographers.
Between 2007 and 2018 he was president of the College of Geographers of Spain.
