Ivan is Professor of Economics at the University of Alicante (UA). He has held positions as Distinguished Researcher "Beatriz Galindo" at UA, Professor of Economics at Lancaster University (UK) and Research Associate at Cardiff University (UK) where he had obtained his PhD in Economics. His research interests include International Macroeconomics, Financial Economics, Time Series Econometrics and Decision Theory. Ivan has published more than 40 articles in scientific journals. Ivan has lead, as Principal Investigator, research projects funded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation and also from the research council of the Generalitat Valenciana. In addition, he is one of the directors of the International Housing Observatory. Ivan has also held managerial positions such as Head of Department, Postgraduate Program Director, and University Promotions Committee Member.
