Jose Antonio Ortega Gilabert has a degree in English Studies from the University of Alicante. He majored in linguistic studies with a master's degree in Language Science and Hispanic Linguistics at Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia.

He is currently working on his doctoral studies in Philosophy and Letters with a specialization in Linguistic Studies at the University of Alicante. under the direction of Dr. Larissa Timofeeva Timofeev. On the other hand, and in relation to his doctoral thesis, he collaborates as a Predoctoral Researcher in the project of the GRIALE group and the Instituto Interuniversitario de Lenguas Modernas Aplicadas (IULMA): PROMETEO/2021/079 "Etiquetaje pragmático para un observatorio de la identidad de mujeres y hombres a través del humor. La plataforma OBSERVAHUMOR.COM".
