Teresa Morell has a PhD in Applied Linguistics and is an Associate Professor in the English Department at the University of Alicante (UA). Her teaching career began in New York, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Queens College, CUNY. She later obtained a second BA in English and her doctorate from the UA. She currently teaches Academic English in the English Department and Applied Linguistics, Oral and Written Comprehension and Expression in the Masters of Spanish and English as Second and Foreign Languages. Additionally, she trains academics to present research and to teach content using English as a Medium of Instruction. In 2011, she received the University of Alicante’s award for Excellence in Teaching. In 2012, she was a visiting professor at the University of Hawai’i at Manoa in the Second Language Studies Department, and in 2016 at the University of Pinar del Río in Cuba. She has been the academic coordinator for the Sede Universitaria de la Marina Alta (2005-2012) and now forms part of la Unitat per la Educació Multilingüe.
