She has a degree in Mathematical Sciences from the University of Valencia (Statistics and operational research specialty) and a PhD from the University of Alicante. In 1987 she obtained an assistant position in the old Polytechnic University School of Alicante and from that moment her professional career has been forged in the University of Alicante. She has conducted several research stays during her career in the United States and in France. Since September 2002 she is a full professor (Catedrática de Universidad) in the Department of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence. Her teaching work has focused mainly on the degrees in Informatics and Multimedia of the Higher Polytechnic School (EPS), actively participating in the projects of research networks in university teaching EEES. She is member of the research group of High Performance Computing and Parallelism and her research focuses on high performance computing applied to scientific and technical problems and predictive modelling in engineering, including artificial intelligence techniques.
