Holds a Degree in Biology and a PhD from the University of Alicante. She is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of General Didactics and Specific Didactics at the University of Alicante. Since 2011, she has been teaching in the field of Experimental Science Education, delivering courses in the Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, the Bachelor’s Degree in Primary Education, and the Master’s Degree in Teacher Training for Compulsory Secondary Education and Baccalaureate, Vocational Training, and Language Teaching (specializing in Biology and Geology).

As a researcher, she has been a member of the Science and Technology Education Research Group since 2012 and has served as its director since 2024. She was also a member of the Vertebrate Zoology Research Group (2007–2012) and the University Institute of Applied Physics to Sciences and Technologies (IUFACyT) from 2017 to 2025.

She has participated in 21 publicly funded R&D&I projects, two of them at the European level, and has served as Principal Investigator (PI) in two projects. In addition, she has been involved in 29 projects or contracts with private entities, acting as lead researcher in five of them, and has participated in 21 educational innovation projects, coordinating five.

Her main research lines focus on Inquiry-Based Science Education (IBSE) and Education for Sustainability, covering both pre-service and in-service teacher training, as well as the implementation of scientific learning models across all educational stages, from early childhood to higher education.

Her scientific output includes 21 articles published in journals indexed in JCR, SCOPUS, SJR, or Latindex, 6 science communication articles, 35 book chapters (22 of them indexed in Web of Science), and 11 books. She has also contributed to more than 75 international conferences, serving on the Scientific Committee of 11 of them.

In the field of research training, she has supervised 3 doctoral theses and is currently supervising 4 more. Furthermore, she coordinates the Academic Committee of the University of Alicante within the Inter-University Doctoral Program in Experimental Science Education.
