Cayetano MAS GALVAÑ (Crevillent, Spain, 1960) is a Doctor in History from the University of Alicante (1986) and Professor of Modern History in the Department of Medieval and Modern History at the same University. His lines of research have been devoted to the study of the cultural and political implications of the Enlightenment and the first Liberalism in Spain, as well as the editing of historiographic sources. From an interest in cultural aspects, his last works focus on the historical study of the climate and disasters determined by natural causes during the Modern Age (sources, social attitudes, catastrophe management, cultural implications). At present he is a member of the Research Group in History and Climate of the UA and IP2 of the research project "Climate, risk, catastrophe and crisis on both sides of the Atlantic during the Little Ice Age (LIA)", HAR2017-82810-P, Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities of the Government of Spain.
