She studied Biology at the University of Alicante where she received her doctorate in 2003, with a study on the community of sarcosaprophagous Diptera (Diptera, Calliphoridae, Sarcophagidae, Muscidae), which represented the beginning of this line of research together with Dr. Santos Rojo Velasco in said university. Since 1998 she has been professor in the Zoology area of ¿¿the Department of Environmental Sciences and Natural Resources at the University of Alicante, where she first worked as an Associate Professor, and since 2017 as a Full Professor. She currently teaches Biology and Criminology, with subjects in Forensic Entomology and Zoology. Her research focuses on topics related mainly to the taxonomy, biology, ecology and applied entomology of Calliphorids and other Diptera related to saprophagy such as Musca domestica and Hermetia illucens. As scientific merits, her work as principal investigator in 2 public projects, her participation in several European and national projects, and private contracts, the co-direction of 6 doctoral theses, and the granting of 2 six-year research periods, the last one in 2016, stand out.
