He received the Ingeniero (M.S). and Doctor Ingeniero (Ph.D.) degrees in Telecommunication Engineering from the Technical University of Valencia (UPV), Valencia, Spain, in 1996 and 2000, respectively. From July 1996 to January 1998 we worked as a predoctotral grantholder at the Communications Department of UPV. From February 1998 to September 1999 he worked as a predoctoral grantholder at the Space Applications Institute, Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission, Ispra, Italy. In October 1999 he started to work as an Assistant Professor at the University of Alicante in the Department of Physics, System Engineering and Signal Theory. Here he has occupied diverse professor categories and is Full Professor in Signal Theory and Communications since November 2011.
Since its creation in 2003, he leads the Signals, Systems and Telecommunication (SST) research group. Moreover, since 2007 he is part of the Institute for Computer Research (IUII) of the University of Alicante.
He is Senior Member of IEEE since 2005. From 2006 to 2012 he was the Chair of the Spanish Chapter of the IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society.
His research lines are on radar remote sensing, covering from technological and methodological aspects (formulation, estimation algorithms, advanced techniques, etc.) to final applications, mainly in the domains of agriculture and geological hazards. He has coauthored a large number of papers in refereed journals and contributions to international conferences in the fields of radar polarimetry, differential interferometry and polarimetric interferometry.
