Lourdes López-Ropero is Senior Lecturer at the English Department of the University of Alicante, where she teaches Contemporary Literature in English. Before joining this university to occupy a tenure-track position in 2001, she obtained her Masters Degree in English from the University of Kansas, and the PhD from the University of Santiago de Compostela. At the latter university she was granted a doctoral fellowship which led to the writing of a dissertation on Anglo-Caribbean diasporic writing. Her doctoral research was partly conducted at the Centre for Caribbean Studies of the University of Warwick (UK).
