Francesc-Xavier Llorca Ibi (Benidorm, 1964). Second-Cycle Undergraduate Degree in Hispanic Studies (Valencian Studies pathway) from the University of Alicante (1987). In 1994 he completed his degree dissertation, titled El llenguatge mariner de Benidorm: El lèxic de la navegació i de la pesca [The language of Benidorm sailors: the lexicon of sailing and fishing]. PhD in Catalan Studies with the thesis El llenguatge mariner de la Marina [The language of La Marina sailors] (1998) directed by PhD Jordi Colomina. Secondary education teacher from 1989 to 2007. Secondary education professor on unpaid leave. Senior lecturer at the University of Alicante’s Faculty of Education since 2012. He has participated in conferences in Valencia, Barcelona, La Coruña, Paris, Philadelphia, Oxford, Reading, Zurich and Copenhagen, among others. Faculty of Education’s Teaching Excellence Award in the academic year 2013-2014.
