Dr. Manuel Lillo-Crespo (PhD, MSCAnthro., MSN, MBAExec., BSN, RN) is Associate Professor in the Department of Nursing, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Alicante (Spain). Deputy Director of the HLA Vistahermosa Hospital in Alicante, having previously been responsible for: Hospitalization Wards/Units, Nursing Education and Research, Hospitalization Quality and Environmental Quality. Active member of the HLA Hospital Group belonging to its National Quality Commission and National Pharmacy Commission. With extensive experience in Team Management and Management of International Research Projects. His areas of expertise are: Clinical and Health Management and Administration, Nursing and Medical Professional Development, Health/Clinical Anthropology (based on Qualitative Research Methodology and Mixed Methods), and Educational Research. Member of Editorial Boards and also Peer-reviewer of journals with Impact Factor at national and international level. He has more than 80 publications in different journals with JCR impact factor and book chapters. He has lectured in scientific events all over the world. Dr. Lillo-Crespo has been Coordinator of International Mobility in his Faculty. He is an active researcher and team leader in different Projects funded by the European Commission such as: ISTEW Project; Palliare Project; PPS Project; MATE Project; HEALINT and HEALINT4ALL Project; Lights4Violence Project; Procare Project; GNurseSim; E-motion, Pro-motion and HS. Dr. Lillo-Crespo is also Visiting Professor at the University of Tamaulipas and the University of Coahuila, both in Mexico, where he has developed several research projects, tutored doctoral theses and taught specialization courses. He is an external professor at the University of Malaga (Spain) in the Master of International Health and in the Master of Innovative Health Research. He also teaches in other Masters and Specialization Modules/Courses of the University of Alicante, such as: Clinical and Community Nutrition, Health Research, Emergencies, Active and Healthy Aging and Palliative Care. He is a professor of the Doctoral Program in Health Sciences, currently advising doctoral candidates worldwide and nationally. So far he has been director of 12 doctoral theses and has been evaluator and member of the tribunal of other 12 doctoral theses. In the clinical setting, his experience as a clinician comes from the Emergency Department and the Intensive Care Unit. In the field of Management, he has driven the decision making of healthcare professionals towards efficiency and evidence-based solutions to develop Transversal Innovative Care Models achieving social impact through translational research and quality improvement. She is an active member of the European Innovative Partnership on Active and Healthy Aging (EIP-AHA). Dr. Lillo-Crespo is director of the University of Alicante Summer Program "Immersion to the Science of Healthcare Improvement" since 2016 and of the "Dementhia Empathia: Understanding Dementia" Program since 2018. He has recently been appointed Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) - Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery and is a Founding Academician of the Nursing Academy of the Valencian Community. He has recently been named Outstanding Alumni of the University of Alicante.
