Yoan Gutiérrez Vázquez is an Associate Professor at the University of Alicante (UA) and a member of the GPLSI: Language Processing and Information Systems Research Group. His research interests include semantic information retrieval, text and opinion mining, ontologies, and knowledge discovery. He has authored over 120 scientific publications, with 87 indexed in the Web of Science Core Collection, including 24 papers in high-impact journals indexed in JCR or of equivalent quality. He has participated in more than 25 national and international R&D projects, serving as Principal Investigator in five of them, and has led seven technology transfer contracts with industry partners. Dr. Gutiérrez has taught more than 25 different courses in computer science. In recent years, he has taught Text Mining in the Master's in Data Science, as well as Multimedia Services and Multimedia Systems Design in the undergraduate program. He has contributed to technology transfer through 19 registered software developments and currently serves as co-chair of the eHealth Knowledge Discovery (eHealth-KD) shared task campaign.
