PhD from the University of Alicante (2000), where he is professor in Archaeology. His main line of research focuses on the study of the material culture, territory and social dynamics of the Iberian and Roman societies in the eastern area of ¿¿the Iberian Peninsula. He also focuses his research interest in the archaeological analysis of the Landscape in the context of the Ancient Mediterranean, especially the applications of geospatial techniques, mainly GIS, in Archaeology. He has approved three teaching five-year periods and three research periods (six-year periods), the last of which dates from 2015.

He develops archaeological fieldwork mainly in the northern regions of Alicante, where he  directed and co-directed the excavations of El Cabeçó de Mariola, El Puig d'Alcoi and La Serreta. He has also developed archaeological research in Giano dell'Umbria (Perugia, Italy) 2007-2013 and in Tarifa (Cádiz) 2014-2015, as a researcher of the French-German project "Archeoestraits" ANS-DFG and in the Central Pacific (French Overseas Confederation of Wallis and Futuna), as a researcher of "the Archeology of the First European contact in the Pacific" 2018-2020 project of Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft

His academic formation has been developed mainly at the University of Alicante, completing with research stays at the Universidad Católica del Norte (Antofagasta, Chile) (August-September 1995), at the University of Southampton (United Kingdom) (February-June 1998) and the Center for Advanced Spatial Technologies of the University of Arkansas (USA) (August-November 1999). He has been a visiting researcher at the University of Southampton (from September 2001 to August 2003), at Northern Arizona University (USA) (April-May 2008) at Brown University (USA) (April 2016) and Leiden Universiteit ( Netherlands) (December 2017-February 2018).
