Carlos D. Gómez-Carmona is an Assistant Professor (Profesor Ayudante Doctor) at the University of Alicante. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Activity and Sport Sciences, a Master's in Sport Sciences Research, a Master's in Teacher Training (Physical Education), and a specialized Master's in High Performance in Cyclic Sports from the University of Murcia, as well as a specialization in Sports Center Management from the University of Castilla-La Mancha. He earned his PhD in Sport Sciences with the highest honors (Sobresaliente Cum Laude), International Mention, and Extraordinary Doctoral Award from the University of Extremadura. He has taught 18 ECTS credits in High Performance and Specialization in Team Sports, and 15 ECTS credits in Teaching Physical Activities in Natural Environments and Cooperative-Opposition Physical Activities, completing more than 60 specialized courses in teaching innovation, physical activity and health, sports performance, and applied technology. He has collaborated in the training of 14 doctoral students, helping them obtain competitive scholarships (FPU and FPI). Co-supervisor of 10 bachelor's and master's theses, academic tutor for 5 students in the tutorial action plan (UEX), and supervisor of over 20 students in professional internships (UNIZAR).

He developed his research career in the Training Optimization and Sports Performance Research Group (GOERD, SEJ018, UEX), and is currently also part of the Research Group in Training, Physical Activity, and Sports Performance (ENFYRED, S53_23R, UNIZAR). His research line focuses on monitoring external and internal demands for sports performance and injury prevention through advanced technology. He has published more than 130 studies (>90 in the last 5 years) in over 40 scientific journals, being first author in more than 30 and corresponding or last author in more than 60. He has over 70 studies indexed in JCR in sport sciences (>30 in Q1) and 12 book chapters in prestigious publishers (Taylor & Francis SPI Q1, University Publishing Services SPI Q3). He has participated in 23 international and 5 national conferences, presenting 6 invited lectures and 53 oral communications (49 international), and has been part of the organizing committee in 5 international conferences. He also serves as a reviewer for JCR journals (Biology of Sport, EJSS, IJPAS, JSCR, Sports Engineering) and editor for publishers such as BMC, Frontiers, and MDPI. He obtained a positive ANECA evaluation as Associate Professor (Profesor Contratado Doctor) and demonstrates high scientific impact: h-index: 37, i10-index: 73, and 4,546 citations in Google Scholar.

Recipient of an R&D&I project with RealTrack Systems co-financed by Banco Santander and the University of Murcia, and an FPU predoctoral scholarship (FPU17/00407). He has conducted scientific outreach activities in federations, clubs, and university events. Member of the external R&D network of the United States Soccer Federation in sports biomechanics and performance analysis. Researcher in 7 competitive projects and member of the International Basketball Research Network (IBRN 20-24 and 20-25, CSD). He completed 3 predoctoral research stays (UEX, National University of Costa Rica, UMU) generating 21 studies and 8 oral communications. He collaborates with more than 30 researchers (10 international) from universities in Spain, Portugal, Italy, Norway, the United States, Costa Rica, and Brazil.
