He got the phD in Chemical Engineering in 1996, becoming the same year Assistant Lecturer at this department. In 1998 he did a postdoctoral stay at the Institute of Polymers Technology and Materials Engineering (Loughborough University, UK) focussing his job, under the supervision of Dr. M. Gilbert, in the topic of PVC crosslinking. Along this time he has published 48 papers in international journals listed in the JCR database mainly dealing with polymers processing and characterization, rheology, kinetic analysis and pyrolysis of different materials (polymers, biomass). Respect to works published from 2012, they have had 557 citations in the last 10 years, and 360 citations in the last five years. 12 papers published from 2012 in journals listed in the JCR database, and 9 of them in journals corresponding to the first quartile of the classification (Q1).

He co-participated in the elaboration of different chapters of the Handbook of PVC plasticizers/  ChemTec Publishing , 3ª Edition (2017)(Edited by G. Wypych). He became professor in 2000 and full professor in 2016.

His research activities have been done in the group of the University of Alicante “Procesado y pirólisis de polímeros” (1994-2016) and “Residuos, energía, medio ambiente y nanotecnología” (2016-2022)

He has been contributed to the formation of researchers, through the direction or codirection of phD, master and degree theses from he joined the University of Alicante. It can be mentioned some presented very recently:

Hi is co-founder (2021) and scientific advisor of the technology based  company “Solublion S.L”, initiative which was granted by University of Alicante in 2020 with “Premios impulso”.

Along this time, he has been sharing his teaching activity with management activities (Department vice head from 2004 to 2010; Chemical Engineering Coordinator from 2010 to 2014, and Head of the Department from 2017).

He has also been participating in a altruistic way in scientific dissemination activities dealing with the role of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering in the daily life through activities as conferences (secondary School Centres, “Universidad Permanente”, “Semana Cultural de la Escuela Politécnica Superior”), short papers in “Revista Politécnica” (ISSN 1889-7126, 20 works from 2012) and programs in “Radio Politécnica” as co founder and presenter (2014-2016) of the program “Ciencias Para Normales” (https://www.ivoox.com/podcast-ciencias-para-normales_sq_f1142524_1.html)
