Prior to starting his PhD, he completed the Programme in Personal and Sports Training and an official Master’s Degree in Sports Performance and Health at the Miguel Hernández University of Elche.

As a civil servant, he has taught at a wide range of educational institutions, including Spanish- and Catalan-speaking schools, rural schools with itinerant teaching, correctional facilities and schools with special educational adaptations. Since 2016, he has combined his teaching duties in public schools with university teaching as an associate lecturer in the Department of General and Specific Teaching Methods at the Faculty of Education, University of Alicante. In this role, he has taken on significant responsibilities such as coordinating undergraduate and Master’s degree courses. In 2020, his dedication to learners led him to supervise students on the Undergraduate Degree in Physical Education and Sports Sciences as part of the University of Alicante’s Educational Innovation Programme for Tutorial Action. In 2023, he secured a position as a PhD assistant lecturer (a category set out in Spanish Organic Act 2/2023 on the University System), which he continues to hold.

Lecturer Alberto Ferriz Valero has made innovative and high-quality scientific contributions in the field of sports development for young athletes, sports pedagogy and sustainable development through physical education. He is author and co-author of numerous scientific articles indexed in leading databases such as the Journal Citation Report and Scimago Journal Rank, as well as book chapters in these research areas. Within his research group, he is in charge of innovative lines of work that have resulted in competitive R&D&I projects as principal investigator; he has also supervised and co-supervised several doctoral theses.

His work includes international collaborations, notably as an active member of the DiTePES (Digital Technology in Physical Education and Sports) research group at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), and he has been an honorary member of the International Network of Researchers in Education (REDIIE®) since 2020.
