Professor of Public International Law and International Relations at the University of Alicante (Spain). Holder of the Jean Monnet Chair and academic coordinator of the Jean Monnet Center of Excellence "The European Neighborhood Policy: Promoting of the EU Values” (ENP-PEUV) (Project ID: 101126435). Among other academic positions, from December 2020 until he is currently Dean of the Faculty of Law of the University of Alicante.
He has published four monographs and some 60 articles and studies on International Law and European Union Law. He is director and co-author of the manuals "Introduction to Public International Law" (Tirant Lo Blanch, 2024) and "Introduction to the Law of the European Union" (Tirant Lo Blanch, 3rd ed., 2024).
Among its lines of research are those dedicated to the international responsibility of the State, the maintenance of international peace and security, the international protection of human rights, the international criminal responsibility of the individual, the international protection of the environment, the action exterior of the European Union, and the immigration and asylum policies of the European Union.
Principal investigator of six projects of the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness. Five six-year periods of research have been recognized consecutively by the National Commission for the Evaluation of Research Activity (CNEAI).
