PhD in Law from the University of Alicante, where she has developed her teaching and research career. Her Doctoral Thesis on the presumption of innocence obtained the Extraordinary Doctorate Award and was published under the title “Evidence and presumption of innocence” in 2005. Her main line of research is evidence law (in the civil and criminal fields), on which she has published two monographs, a manual on evidential reasoning (co-authored) and numerous articles, has taught in masters and doctoral courses both in Spain and in Latin American countries (Mexico, Brazil, Colombia and Peru) and has lectured at national and international conferences, especially on topics such as the presumption of innocence, unlawful evidence, court-ordered evidence, the criteria for admission of evidence or the rational assessment of the evidence. Since its first edition, she has been a professor of the Master in evidential reasoning at the University of Girona. She has taken part in numerous research projects of different universities financed by public calls for R+D+I, being principal investigator of some of them, where her contributions have focused on the analysis of evidence and evidential reasoning. She is currently working on evidentiary errors.
She has carried out research stays in Italy (2000 and 2023), Germany (2008), United Kingdom (2016), Chile (2017), as well as at the University of Castilla-La Mancha (2021).
Since the judicial year 2008/2009 she has been a substitute magistrate assigned to the Provincial Court of Alicante, where she regularly exercises the jurisdictional function in the criminal order.
In the field of university management, she has held the functions of Vice-Dean of Postgraduate Studies of the Faculty of Law of the University of Alicante (2012-2014) and Coordinator of the Master's Degree in Criminal Investigation and Forensic Sciences of the University of Alicante (2014-2018). She has been Director of the Master's Degree in Advocacy at the same University (2018-2023) and of the School of Legal Practice of Alicante (2019-2023).
