MPilar Escobar is a Computer Enginner by the University of Alicante in 1998 where she has studied for her Doctorate and obtained a Diploma in Advanced Studies in 2013. She has also worked in the private sector and, since 2010, she is a member of the Research and Development department at The Biblioteca Virtual Miguel de Cervantes.

Her main areas of research interest are library information system, Information Retrieval, Semantic Web and LOD. As part of her work, she authored several publications and has been involved in the adoption of standards and in the integration of Linked Open Data in digital libraries.
