Oana M. Driha is an associate professor in Applied Economics and a researcher at the Institute of International Economics, as well as at the Institute of Tourism Research. Oana holds an international PhD in Economics (internationalisation), a degree in International Economic Relations (University of Oradea) and a diploma in Tourism (University of Alicante).
Over the last 7 years, Oana has published over 20 articles in JCR & SJR indexed journals (Q1 & D1), such as Technological Forecasting and Social Change, Sustainable Development, Current Issues in Tourism, Journal of Cleaner Production, Resources Policy, Air Quality, Atmosphere & Health, etc. Her research interests focus on economic growth, climate change and energy economics, innovation and tourism.
Additionally, since 2013 she has been collaborating intensively in international project management (with a very similar approach to her areas of research), as well as in knowledge transfer projects with a wide range of universities and international organizations (European Commission, EUIPO, among others) and foreign public organizations (National Secretariat for Science, Technology and Innovation - Honduras, Commission on Higher Education - Philippines, Intellectual Property Offices of ASEAN member states) and other foreign organizations from more than 25 countries.
Currently, Oana is the responsible researcher of projects such as:
SIKAT - Sustainable and Innovative Knowledge Application for Tourism and other relevant topics for the Philippines Higher Education sector - funded by the Philippine Government (CHED).
MULTITRACES - Multidisciplinary training in circular economy and smart valorisation of the rural area for new business models - funded by the European Commission
Economic contribution study for Jamaica (under the umbrella of CariPI), financed by the EUIPO
CESTour - Centers of Excellence in Sustainable Tourism to boost economic development and enhance University-Business cooperation in Southern Asia - financed by the European Commission
