I finished my Ph.D. in Economics at the London School of Economics in 1994. I started working as assistant professor at Universidad Carlos III and I moved to Universidad de Alicante in 1998. I was promoted to associate professor in 2001 and to full professor in 2012. My main areas of research are Labor Economics, Public Economics and Applied Microeconometrics. My best publications are in American Economic Review, Review of Economic Studies, Journal of Econometrics and Journal of Applied Econometrics. I have supervised seven Ph.D dissertations. I have been Director of the Graduate Program in Quantitative Economics from 2002-2005 and 2007-2008 and Director of the Department from 2013 to 2017.
