Rafael Chinchilla was born in Alicante (Spain) and studied chemistry at the University of Alicante (BSc, MSc and PhD), spending postdoctoral stays at the University of Aix-Marseille (France) and the University of Uppsala (Sweden). He is Full Professor at the Department of Organic Chemistry and the Institute of Organic Synthesis of the University of Alicante and his present research is mainly centered on enantioselective organocatalyzed reactions.
