Full Professor at the University of Alicante since 2024 in the Department of Information Technology and Computing. Until 2004, I worked in the private sector and as a freelancer on ERP and CMR development. In 2004, I was awarded a research grant at the University of Alicante; in 2006, I was appointed as a Research Assistant; in 2013, I was promoted to Senior Research Assistant; and in 2016, I was appointed as a Contracted Professor until 2023 and as a Tenured Professor until 2024. I am a member of the ‘GrupoM: Networks and Middleware’ research group and of the University Institute for Research in Computer Science at the University of Alicante. I have been Head of Studies for the Bachelor’s Degree in Multimedia Engineering from 2018 to 2025 and Director of the Master’s Degree in Cybersecurity from 2021 to 2025. I have been the technology director of the Smart University project from 2014 to 2021 (€569,000 local investment) and from 2022 to 2024 with funding from the Next Generation programme (€890,000). Since 2024, I have been the Principal Investigator (PI) of the project “Preventive maintenance of digital infrastructures through the application of Artificial Intelligence for the diagnosis and prediction of anomalies (PreMAI)”, funded by the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities. I have authored over 100 scientific or technical publications with a JCR impact factor of 23 and 75 papers presented at conferences. I have participated in 46 competitive R&D&I projects at European, national, regional and local levels, and in 110 non-competitive projects with companies and public administrations. I have supervised 4 PhD theses and over 200 undergraduate and master’s dissertations, and have been awarded two six-year research grants; I hold a patent and have registered software in use. I have served as an expert in the evaluation of European and national projects, and as a reviewer for high-impact journals and international conferences.
