Principal Investigator (PI) of the Horizon Europe RELISH Project (http://relisheu.org) on the future of European gastronomy and identity by 2050, as the lead (FUTURLAB) of the WP9 "Future Scenarios" work package, and Co-Director, along with Chair Professor of Chemical Engineering Andrés Fullana (E4CE-Engineering for Circular Economy), of the sociological research of the National R&D&I Project REBORN on plastic recycling, user experience (UX), and social acceptance of the circular economy.

PhD in Sociology. Professor of Prospective Sociology at the University of Alicante (UA) since 2002. Visiting Research Professor of the CLICCS-Climate Change and Society cluster of excellence, led by the University of Hamburg (UHH) and the Max Planck Institute, since 2020. Visiting Professor and Research Collaborator at universities worldwide.

Founding Director of FUTURLAB-Foresight Laboratory, integrated into relevant international networks such as LASIN (Latin American Social Innovation Network), SEASIN (South East Social Innovation Network) –both funded by the European Commission– and the CYTED Network of Foresight and Innovation (ECLAC/ILPES). Director of INNODAY, a high-level international event on innovation culture, since 2009.

Member of the European Commission's expert advisory groups SFRI-Strategic Foresight for Research and Innovation and FOD-Foresight on Demand, and of professional committees, associations, and think tanks (WFSF-World Futures Studies Federation, European Futurists Conference, Techcast Global/George Washington University, etc.).

Member of the Editorial Board / peer-reviewer at Springer-Nature and the 5 top scientific journals in the field: Technological Forecasting and Social Change, Futures, European Journal of Futures Research, Foresight, and Journal of Futures Studies.
