Catálisis asimétrica sostenible.
Desarrollo de metodologías catalíticas asimétricas eficaces y sostenibles en síntesis orgánica. En particular, diseño y uso de catalizadores y condiciones de reacción sostenibles como la organocatálisis asimétrica, fotocatálisis asimétrica, catálisis heterogénea, medios de reacción alternativos no tóxicos, etc., para potenciar una síntesis orgánica asimétrica sostenible.
Síntesis y caracterización de compuestos orgánicos y materiales de interés industrial.
Optimización y desarrollo de nuevas rutas sintéticas para la preparación de compuestos orgánicos de alto valor añadido. Síntesis y caracterización de nuevos materiales orgánicos e inorgánicos y su empleo como catalizadores sostenibles y en la valoración de residuos industriales.

- Preparación de derivados de aminoácidos y su uso como organocatalizadores en síntesis asimétrica. - Preparación de derivados de péptidos y empleo como organocatalizadores en reacciones enantioselectivas. - Síntesis asimétrica de compuestos quirales medaiante el uso de organocatalizadores y ligandos derivados de aminoácidos y péptidos - Preparación de guanidinas quirales y su uso como organocatalizadores en síntesis asimétrica.

-Uso de derivados de bifenilo o binaftilo y L-Prolina como organocatalizadores quirales en reacciones aldólicas enantioselectivas. - Empleo de L-prolina y derivados en reacciones enantioselectivas llevadas a cabo en nuevos disolventes. - Uso de de amino-guanidinas quirales como organocatalizadores en adiciones Michael enantioselectivas.
