Competencies and objectives

Course context for academic year 2015-16

This undergraduate survey course is intended to function as a broad overview of the 19th Century. The aim is to construct a general picture of this century and then to interrogate the boundaries of this period (cultural, literary, social and historical). We will read a wide amount of critical, scientific and literary production in order to rethink the epistemic breaks between the romantic, the Victorian and the modern.
