“An Introduction to Political Science” corresponds to the Political Science and Administration Area, Department of Legal Studies of the State, University of Alicante. "Introduction to Political Science" (Basic Training of First Course, Second Semester, Degree in Criminology).
6 credit ETCS. 6 ECTS credits (60 class and presence hours and 90 hours of autonomous work by the student)
The main purpose of the subject is that the student acquires solid knowledge of the Political Science and Administration Area, as well as to handle specific and general skills that allow they will develop an adequate application of the learned for better professional performance, once completed Its formative university stage. Hence the importance of a correct incardination, and balance, between theoretical and practical classes.

In this area, a fundamental objective is to fulfil the training criteria defined in the competences of the subject. In this way, it will tend to provide solid and critical knowledge of the introductory bases of the Area of Political Science and Administration as a foundation for the adequate training of graduates in Criminology. In this way, the student will be able to increase his analysis tools to understand and study the political and social processes.
Among the instrumental objectives of the subject is the ability to argue and discuss theoretical / practical formulations, which affect the field of study of the subject. Constructing a set of theoretical arguments, applying it to specific cases, as well as the correct definition of ideas and facts, expressed orally and / or in writing, are equally instrumental objectives.
