1. CONTEXTUALIZACIÓN/PRESENTACIÓN
Asignatura dedicada a familiarizar al alumno con los aspectos teóricos y prácticos de la práctica arqueológica, antes, durante y después de la intervención sobre el terreno. Se pretende que adquiera una formación básica en los conceptos, métodos y estrategias de la actuación arqueológica, sobre todo en lo referente al conocimiento y utilización de nuevas tecnologías.

General Competences (CG)
- CG2 : Capacity to analyse and synthesise archaeological information.
- CG6 : Adapt to new situations involving the diversity of heritage.
Specific Competences (CE)
- CE2 : Capacity to work professionally in archaeology, historical research, historical and archaeological management of cultural resources in modern society, in accordance with the deontological principles and codes of the profession.
- CE4 : Know how to apply the methods, techniques and instruments used in the sciences related to the Historical and Archaeological Heritage.
- CE5 : Acquire the ability to use material sources for the study of History in a critical manner, as well as the instruments for gathering and processing information (catalogues, inventories, electronic databases, etc.).
- CE6 : Capacity to handle resources, computer and Internet techniques regarding architecture and heritage, in order to update one's knowledge of the new tools for the diffusion of information.
