La asignatura se configura como un materia de carácter tecnológico e instrumental en el contexto de las técnicas de la ingeniería hidráulica e hidrológica que representan la base fundamental de las metodologías de evaluación de los riesgos de inundación, específicamente orientada a la planificación, prevención y medidas de actuación.
