Course context for academic year 2022-23

This subject is a continuation and extension of the subject Means and techniques of interpretation that will be taught in the master's degree. As in the previous course, it highlights the need to adapt to a competitive tourism context in which tourist destinations develop strategies of diversification and differentiation based on natural and cultural heritage, it is essential that new initiatives are offered on the basis of quality parameters and conscious planning.

Faced with an experienced, demanding and independent tourist demand that values tourist experiences that are capable of generating memories and fun, it is essential to be able to offer attractive and enriching proposals based on the language of heritage interpretation. In this subject, as well as attending to demand in general, it is necessary to know and attend to the peculiarities of clients with special needs: whether due to functional diversity or to their abilities due to their young age.

In this context, it is essential to have professionals who know the conceptual and disciplinary bases of heritage interpretation, and who are able to apply the most appropriate means and techniques in each case to achieve strategic and effective communication of heritage values.
