Course context for academic year 2023-24

This subject belongs to the itinerary The European and Mediterranean World, which proposes a vision of the historical processes in the European framework and the relationship between the two shores of the Mediterranean, without forgetting other geographical areas, with the idea of transnationality as a reference. In this case, the aim is to analyze the historical origins of Mediterranean culture, with special emphasis on its religious foundations, in order to show the Mediterranean cultural bases of the three great monotheistic religions in coexistence with the pagan polytheism of Greco-Roman roots.
