Specific objectives stated by the academic staff for academic year 2019-20

- Analyze the recreational activities of the Alicante society of the 19th century.
- Publicize the first School of Drawing of the 19th century in Alicante, as well as its teachers and students and explain the teaching methodology and the training of the artist.
- Study the residential architecture in the garden framing it within the aesthetic currents of this period: neoclassicism and eclecticism.
- Analyze the creation of new spaces within the city and housing with a social and recreational function in relation to the anthropological concept of leisure.
- Discover the new concept of sculpture and funerary architecture.
- Explain the pictorial styles that occur in this century: Neoclassicism and Romanticism, as well as fashion genres according to temporary exhibitions.
- Analyze the main artists of the time: life and works.
- Explain the new tendencies and bourgeois tastes: photography and orientalism.
