This course provides students with the necessary tools on the basic concepts related to field theory. These concepts are essential for subjects in which a rigorous formalism with which to tackle problems of scalar and vector fields in different geometries needed.
The main objective of the first part of the course is the knowledge of Euclidean spaces, learning the basics of vector algebra and basic operations with these elements.
The main objective of the second part of the course is the knowledge of the fundamentals of vector analysis in curvilinear coordinate systems.
Core competencies include understanding of the fundamentals of vector analysis in curvilinear coordinate systems: vector derived and the fundamental differential operators and vectorial integrals obtained in ordinary space, using the fundamental theorems. The study of special vector fields is also included.Conservative, solenoidal, harmonics and central.
