Course context for academic year 2021-22
The course develops the main models of oligopolistic competition, analyzes the sources of market power, introduces the theory of competition policy, focusing on mergers and collusion and analyzes also research and development.

- CE5 : Capacity to present important economic problems precisely and respond adequately to said problems by using the techniques learnt on the different courses, using theoretical and empirical analyses or simulations if necessary.

The students should get familiar with the main models of industrial organization, with the aim to be able to do research in IO themselves, writing formal models and getting results formally presented as propositions, which must be formally, mathematically proven.
