Competencies and objectives

Course context for academic year 2020-21

Robotic system design is a fundamental part of robotics, especially for the multitude of different applications in today's industry. This subject describes the contents necessary for advanced modeling, dynamic simulation, selection of mechanisms / drives, and advanced mechanical analysis for the complete development of a specific robotic system, according to the specifications of the task to be performed by the robot. In the advanced modeling section, the resolution tools for robot kinematics and dynamics will be described based on the task data. For the selection of the mechanisms / drives, it will be explained how to select the mechanical part of the robot based on the model data. Finally, we will discuss how to carry out advanced mechanical analysis in order to have an advanced and complete design of the robot.
