Course context for academic year 2021-22

On this subject the objectives and contents are focused on the student being able to acquire adequate knowledge to perform an adequate dietary treatment for athletes in different situations and disciplines.

Specific objectives stated by the academic staff for academic year 2021-22

Knowing the characteristics of athletes.
Learn to use methods of recording sports nutrition habits.
Assimilate what information provides the assessment of nutritional status.
Apply the most appropriate dietary planning training cycles, pre-competition, competition and rest.
Relate dietary adaptation planning the most recommended for the event that is preparing the athlete body composition.
Differentiate existing menus with high energy density.
Note the use of dietary supplementation or more suitable ergogenic aids.
Knowing the necessary adaptations by schedule changes or geography.
To acquire the knowledge necessary to find the most appropriate dietary intervention proposed for different sports.
