Competencies and objectives

 

Course context for academic year 2021-22

The subject "Learning difficulties and developmental disorders" is one of the four subjects that form the unit called "Learning and development of personality". It has the character of compulsory subject with 6 ECTS credits distributed as follows: a) theoretical classes : 1.2 credits, b) practical problems: 1.2 credits, c) study and autonomous work: 3 credits, d) tutoring: 0.6 credits. (a and b are face-to-face academic credits, c and d are non-face-to-face credits).

General Competences (CG)

  • CG1 : Identify information needs and then find, analyse, process, evaluate and communicate it effectively, critically and creatively.
  • CG6 : Value diversity as a matter of fact and integrate it positively.
  • CG7 : Capacity for criticism and self-criticism, giving reasoned judgements and ethical, professional and personal commitment. Motivated to improve quality.

 

Specific Competences (CE)

  • CE4 : Motivate and promote the progress of students in school in the framework of comprehensive education and promote their self-learning skills, starting with the targets and content of each educational level, with positive expectations of student progress. All of this while renouncing traditional stereotypes that are external to learning, and developing strategies to avoid discrimination and exclusion.
  • CE6 : Encourage students to act as responsible and critical citizens to promote the shared construction of democratic standards of coexistence and work together to resolve problematic situations and conflicts. Be able to analyse social inequalities in the framework of the complex education-school relationship and the role of teachers in reproducing and/or transforming them.

 

 

 

Learning outcomes (Training objectives)

  • Be aware of high-performance students, their development processes, as well as their learning processes
  • Master the necessary knowledge to identify developmental dysfunctions and learning difficulties in students
  • Be aware of the learning and development difficulties of students with sensory, motor and intellectual disabilities, and developmental disorders, in order to report them and collaborate in their educational intervention

 

 

Specific objectives stated by the academic staff for academic year 2021-22

Develop teamwork skills in view of future professional performance such as:
a) "formal leader" of a group of students.
b) member of assembly of teachers at their primary school
