Competencies and objectives

Course context for academic year 2023-24

The objective of the Statistics subject is to train students in the use of the basic tools of calculating probabilities, descriptive statistics and statistical inference for their application in the field of health.

The development of the subject will allow the student to obtain the necessary aptitudes and abilities for the collection of information related to the health sciences, its representation and its subsequent statistical analysis in a critical and scientific way.

The subject is presented in a self-contained way, but it is advisable to have a solid pre-university mathematical foundation in relation to set theory, combinatorial analysis, the concept of probability and basic integral calculus.
