Course context for academic year 2023-24

Esta asignatura se imparte en el segundo curso (3º semestre) de la titulación de Graduado en Ingeniería Civil y tiene por finalidad introducir a los alumnos en los principios básicos que rigen el diseño tanto de redes de abastecimiento como de saneamiento y flujo en lámina libre. Se aborda también el ciclo hídrico del agua en la naturaleza desde todos los puntos de vista necesarios para un ingeniero intensificando los aspectos de transformación de precipitación en escorrentía

  • CE-7 : Knowledge and understanding of fluid mechanics and the basic flow equations for application to conduit systems, both pressurised and free-flow.
  • CE-8 : Knowledge, understanding and application of the concepts of surface and underground hydrology. Capacity to assess and regulate water resources.

 

Basic Transversal Competences

  • CB-3 : Students should have the ability to gather and interpret relevant data (normally within their field of study) to give opinions that include a reflection on important, social, scientific, ethical matters, etc.

Following the commitment adopted by the AU to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals promulgated by the UN, the subject of Industrial Technologies contributes specifically to the achievement of the following goals:

Digitalisation content: the course is taught using the Moodle platform, where students are provided with the necessary audiovisual materials (presentations and videos) for the correct monitoring of the course. In addition, the "Kahoot" application is used for the development of the subject.

Basic understanding of the fundamental concepts of hydraulics.

Ability to design water circulation networks, both in free sheet and confined flows.

Acquire a global vision of the water cycle.

Acquire awareness of water as a limited resource.

Acquiring the ability to design hydraulic works, from the quantification of the flow rate to the dimensions, shapes and typology of drainage works.

Acquisition of the ability to critically analyse the results obtained.
