Course context for academic year 2013-14

Inglés II presume la adquisición de las destrezas básicas de comprensión oral y escrita en un contexto académico de la asignatura precedente, Inglés I. La asignatura de Inglés II se centra  principalmente en  la adquisición y práctica de las destrezas de expresión oral y escrita en los contextos tanto académico  como científico-técnico -propio de las titulaciones impartidas en la Escuela Politécnica Superior - que permitan al estudiante comunicarse de forma oral y escrita de forma eficaz.

DEGREE IN SOUND AND IMAGE IN TELECOMMUNICATION ENGINEERING

 

UA Basic Transversal Competences

  • CT11 : Capacity to learn and apply new concepts and methods in an autonomous and interdisciplinary fashion.
  • CT14 : Capacity for self-criticism needed to analyse and improve the quality of projects.
  • CT6 : Capacity to use the English language fluently to access technical information, respond to the needs of society and be self-sufficient when preparing one's professional career.
  • CT9 : Capacity for group work.

 

Basic Transversal Competences

  • CT2 : Students should know how to apply their knowledge to their job or vocation in a professional manner and should possess those skills that are usually reflected when preparing and defending arguments and solving problems in their field of study.
  • CT3 : Students should have the ability to gather and interpret relevant data (normally within their field of study) to give opinions that include a reflection on important, social, scientific, ethical matters, etc.
  • CT4 : Students should be able to transmit information, ideas, problems and solutions to both specialist and non-specialist audiences.
  • CT5 : Students should have developed the necessary learning skills to take on later studies with a high level of autonomy.

  • C1 : Capacity for self-learning of new knowledge and techniques appropriate for the conception, development and exploitation of telecommunications systems and services.
  • C3 : Capacity to use computer tools to find bibliographic resources and information related to telecommunications and electronics.

Specific objectives stated by the academic staff for academic year 2013-14

Objetivos Generales

1. Adquirir y saber utilizar la lengua inglesa en el contexto de la ciencia y de la tecnología.

2. Adquirir competencia para identificar y descodificar con precisión las estructuras semántico-sintácticas propias del discurso oral y escrito en lengua inglesa.

3. Profundizar en el conocimiento del vocabulario académico y específico

4. Adquirir habilidades para interpretar y aplicar con precisión el lenguaje de los grafos.

5. Adquirir habilidades comunicativas para organizar la información escrita con el fin de redactar párrafos.

6. Adquirir correcta pronunciación, ritmo y entonación en la lectura en voz alta.

7. Adquirir método para lograr una comunicación oral efectiva.

8. Reforzar que la comprensión de las destrezas y el conocimiento obtenido a través de la asignatura son las herramientas usadas para solucionar problemas, investigar, comunicar, etc.

Objetivos específicos del profesor

1. Desarrollar sólidas habilidades lingüísticas, competencias de pensamiento crítico, y preparar al estudiante para que pueda proseguir su formación académica

2.  Poner en práctica las destrezas de recepción/producción escrita/oral en los sectores y ámbitos más destacados en los campos de la ciencia y tecnología (mundo académico, mercado laboral, marketing de nuevos productos, etc.)

3. Valorar el idioma como un recurso importante de interacción en lugar de una asignatura académica.

4. Motivar al estudiante para que utilice la lengua para comunicarse en lugar de permitirle sentirse cómodo simplemente amasando conocimientos sobre la lengua.

5. Utilizar la lengua inglesa de forma que genere situaciones comunicativas.

6. Impulsar e instruir sobre cómo utilizar el enfoque ‘blended learning’ o aprendizaje semi-presencial aplicado al aprendizaje de idiomas por medio de un sistema de gestión del aprendizaje (Moodle).
