Competencies and objectives

 

Course context for academic year 2019-20

El estudio de una asignatura de Mecánica de Fluidos y Ondas en el Grado de Ciencias del Mar se justifica plenamente ya que proporcionará los conocimientos necesarios para comprender los mecanismos que gobiernan la compleja dinámica de los océanos y/o la atmósfera. El aprovechamiento de este curso, que ahondará en las bases físicas, será fundamental para poder aprovechar asignaturas de cursos posteriores como Oceanografía Física, Introducción a la Meteorología y/o Ingeniería costera y oceánica.

Specific Competences:>>Theoretical

  • CE16 : Conocer e interpretar los factores que influyen en el clima y en el hidrodinamismo marino.
  • CE3 : Understand and apply the basic concepts and laws of Physics.
  • CE5 : Acquire a basic understanding of mathematics (algebra and calculus) and statistics.
  • CE6 : Know and understand the essential facts, concepts, principles and theories related to marine sciences and their relationship with other sciences.
  • CE9 : Acquire knowledge of physics related to fluids and waves, mainly concerned with the atmosphere and ocean.

 

Specific Competences:>> Ability

  • CE22 : Capacity to gather data (oceanographic, biological, sediment, logical, chemical, etc.), evaluate, process and interpret it as per the theories in use.
  • CE23 : Know how to work on oceanographic campaigns and in the laboratory in a responsible and safe manner, encouraging teamwork.
