Course context for academic year 2012-13

La asignatura complementa y los contenidos desarrollados en la asignatura "Ecología" (4º smestre) y, junto con ésta, proporciona los fundamentos ecológicos esenciales para la formación ambiental del futuro graduado7a en Biología. Asímismo, la asignatura ofrece una perspectiva integral del funcionamiento de los sistemas biológicos.Los contenidos de la asignatura y las competencias a las que contribuye son esenciales para el desarrollo del perfil profesional ambiental, especialmente en el ámbito de la evaluación ecológica y ambiental, y la gestión, conservación y restauración de ecosistemas y de al biodiversidad.

Specific Competences:>>Theoretical

  • CE10 : Understand the fundamentals of the regulation of vital functions of organisms through internal and external factors and identify mechanisms for adapting to the environment.
  • CE23 : Analyse the components of the physical environment: hydric, atmospheric and terrestrial and their relationship with the biotic environment.
  • CE24 : Acquire the basic knowledge to analyse the structure and dynamics of populations.
  • CE25 : Relate the different interactions between species in the working of ecosystems.
  • CE26 : Acquire the basic knowledge to analyse the structure and dynamics of communities.
  • CE3 : Understand and apply mathematical and statistical methods for validating models from experimental data applied to Biology.
  • CE7 : Understand evolutionary mechanisms and models.
  • CE9 : Identify organisms and interpret the diversity of species in the environment, as well as their origin, evolution and behaviour.

 

Specific Competences:>>Ability

  • CE31 : Recognise and implement good scientific practices for measurement and experimentation.
  • CE34 : Plan, design and execute practical research studies, evaluating the results.
  • CE35 : Interpret data gathered from observation and measurement in the laboratory and the field.
  • CE47 : Characterise, manage, conserve and restore populations, communities and ecosystems.
