Course context for academic year 2021-22

La Histología estudia las agrupaciones celulares constituidas per células especializadas estructural i funcionalmente; estasagrupaciones constituyen los tejidos, tanto animales como vegetales. Su objeto de estudio son, por tanto, los diferentes tipos celulares y su relación con la matriz extracelular, por lo que integra aspectos morfológicos, fisiológicos y moleculares. 

La Histología es una disciplina esencial para comprender tanto la estructura como los procesos biológicos normales y patológicos fundamentales que deben conocer todos los graduados tanto de Ciencias Biológicas como de Ciencias de la Salud. Se imparte en el segundo curso del Grado de Biología dado que los conocimientos de los niveles celular, tisular, de órganos y sistemas, a nivel microscópico, son pre-requisito para coordinarse con los contenidos de otras materias tan importantes como la Anatomía, la Botánica, la Fisiología, la Zoología, la Anatomía Patológica, etc.
