Course context for academic year 2019-20

Química I es una asignatura del primer cuatrimestre del primer curso de los grados en Química y Geología. Es una asignatura del Módulo Básico en el que también se incluyen las asignaturas básicas de la Rama de Ciencias como Matemáticas, Física, Biología, Geología, Operaciones Básicas de Laboratorio I y comunes a todo el alumnado del Grado en Química y Geología. Se trata de una asignatura introductoria cuyo objetivo es que el alumno/a entre en contacto con los conceptos básicos de la Ciencia Química, aportándole las herramientas adecuadas para afrontar los contenidos del Módulo Fundamental. En concreto, en esta asignatura se desarrollarán los contenidos relacionados con la termodinámica y cinética química y con el equilibrio químico, que junto a los contenidos de las asignatura Operaciones Básicas de laboratorio I y Química II (del segundo cuatrimestre en el Grado en Química) proporcionarán al alumnado la formación básica necesaria para afrontar los estudios de grado, introduciendo los conceptos imprescindibles para entender las materias más específicas que se abordarán en los siguientes cursos.

  • CE1 : Acquire basic knowledge of chemistry, nomenclature, agreements and units.
  • CE4 : Understand the main kinds of chemical reaction and their main associated characteristics.
  • CE6 : Understand the principles of the thermodynamics and their applications in Chemistry.
  • CE7 : Understand the kinetics of chemical change and its applications, including catalysis and reaction mechanisms.

 

Specific Competences:>>Ability

  • CE25 : Solve qualitative and quantitative problems using previously developed models
  • CE28 : Recognise and implement good scientific measurement and experimentation practices.
  • CE30 : Handle chemical reagents, instruments and devices safely.
  • CE37 : Evaluate the risks involved in using chemical substances and laboratory procedures, as well as managing any waste generated correctly.

 

Generic UA Competences

  • CGUA2 : Express oneself correctly, both orally and in writing, in either of the official languages of the Region of Valencia.
